Automatically optimized irrigation with a soil moisture sensor

Garden irrigation has never been so simple and precise: the innovative GARDENA soil moisture sensor automatically ensures that your garden is watered as needed and saves water by measuring the current soil moisture and transmitting this to the water control. If the soil is still sufficiently moist, the upcoming irrigation cycle is skipped. In this way your plants automatically receive reliable and precise care, and as an added bonus - you save water. The sensor is compatible with almost all GARDENA Water Controls and multi-channel controllers. Due to its compact size, the soil moisture sensor can be used not only on lawns or flower beds, but is also suitable for smaller plant pots. To ensure that the sensor does not interfere with lawn maintenance, it has a particularly low height and a flat surface: both lawnmowers and lawn robots can easily pass over the sensor without any damage. The five-meter-long connection cable allows flexible mounting and, if necessary, can be extended with an extension cable available as an accessory. To have more information about irrigation, you can view it on the connected water control. A low level of the two AA batteries (not included) is shown both on the water control and on the LED panel in the battery compartment. The batteries should last approximately one year. Using the soil moisture sensor, you will always be assured that your plants never lack water and that it is not wasted unnecessarily.

Automatic water-saving irrigation
If the soil moisture is sufficient, your Water Control will not start operation - so you save water and still have beautiful and healthy plants. The soil moisture sensor together with GARDENA water control can automatically control irrigation depending on soil moisture.

Can be placed anywhere
Whether it is a flower bed, lawn or plant pots: due to the small and compact size and the five-meter-long connection cable, the soil moisture sensor can be placed in almost any garden location. Due to the low height and flat top, the sensor can be installed in the lawn without interfering with the mowing process.

Clearly visible information
You can set the sensor switching point in the connected water control. The measured soil moisture is displayed on the screen in the form of water drops. If your products are connected to the GARDENA "Bluetooth" app, you can view all settings there.

Safe and reliable control
When the battery is running low, a notification is displayed both on the Water Control and on the battery LED. This allows timely battery replacement and ensures reliable operation.

Easy to use
The five-meter-long connection cable allows flexible connection of the soil moisture sensor and, if necessary, it can be extended further.

Proven reliable measurement principle
The soil sensor measures soil moisture according to a proven electrothermal measurement principle. The metal tip, enclosed in a special opening, heats up and reliably and accurately calculates the degree of soil moisture based on the cooling time.
