This USB-C hub with RS-232 serial, gigabit ethernet, and 100W USB-C power delivery adds two USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) Type-A ports to a computer with USB-C or USB-A. The included 2-foot (60 cm) USB-C host cable has a captive USB-C to USB-A adapter, allowing the hub to easily connect to USB-A and USB-C host computers. The hub adds an RS-232 serial DB-9M port to a desktop or laptop. The USB to RS-232 adapter features COM retention, which automatically reassigns the COM port value if the cable is disconnected and reconnected or the system is rebooted. The gigabit ethernet controller is compliant with IEEE 802.3u/ab standards and supports Wake-on-LAN (WoL), Jumbo Frames, and V-LAN tagging. The network adapter enhances a laptop's network reliability, security, and performance using wired 10/100/1000 Mbps ethernet. Charge the host laptop by connecting the host laptop's USB-C power supply to the USB power delivery (PD) port (charges an 85W laptop). Connect a power supply to the USB-C PD pass-through port to power a connected host device. PD 3.0 features fast role swap (FRS) to avoid USB data disruption when switching power sources (USB-C power adapter to bus power). This device is compatible with most host operating systems including Windows, MacOS, and Linux.
