The UT512 allows measurement of insulation resistance at four different test voltages: 500V, 1000V, 1500V, and 2500V. Measurement ranges are from 0.5 MΩ to 100 GΩ, with ±(3%+5) accuracy at 100 kΩ ~ 10 MΩ, enabling precise assessment of insulation condition. A 1 ~ 1.2 mA test current and low short-circuit current (< 2 mA) ensure safe and stable measurements.

The UT512 offers additional functions to measure direct (DC) and alternating (AC) voltage from 30V to 600V with ±(2% + 5) accuracy, making it a versatile electrical diagnostic tool. The device also features dielectric absorption and polarization index functions, enabling deeper analysis of insulation properties, which is crucial for preventing failures and ensuring installation safety.

The UT512 tester is equipped with a 123x58mm backlit LCD screen, ensuring readability under various lighting conditions. Auto-ranging, analog bar graph, and comparison functions ease operation and speed up the measurement process. The tester has an 18-measurement memory, allowing easy storage and analysis of results.

The UT512 is powered by eight 1.5V (LR14) batteries and features an auto-off function to save energy and extend battery life. A robust construction with dimensions of 202x155x94mm and a weight of 1.8kg makes the device durable and suitable for daily use. The kit includes special test leads with alligator clips, a USB cable, an external power supply, and a carrying case, facilitating storage and transport.
