Ermenrich Ping ET50 is an insulation resistance meter or megohmmeter designed to check cable quality. Insulation damage or deterioration in a working cable can cause short circuits and fires. Regular megohmmeter testing reduces the risk of such dangerous situations. The device operates with 5 test voltages: 100, 250, 500, 1000, and 2500V. The total resistance measurement range is from 0 to 200GΩ.
The device also measures two additional parameters: dielectric absorption ratio (DAR) and polarization index (PI). The first indicates the moisture content in the insulation: if the content is high, drying is required. The second parameter is used to determine the remaining insulation service life. The megohmmeter also measures AC and DC voltages, has a continuity testing function and a timer for resistance measurement mode. Measurement results and operating parameters are displayed on the built-in backlit screen. There are functions for recording data to memory, holding data on the screen, and setting minimum and maximum values.
The device has a built-in flashlight for working in the dark. Power is supplied by batteries.
