USE: Automotive service, compression pressure testing of spark ignition engines. CONSTRUCTION: Measuring device: analog pressure gauge with 3–20 bar (50–300 PSI) scale, located in the adapter housing. The pressure gauge has two types of tips: - conical, rubber (seals the spark plug socket) - screw-on spark plug tips (M14 and M18). OPERATION: To measure compression pressure, remove all spark plugs from the engine, attach the pressure gauge tip to the spark plug socket in the first cylinder, turn on ignition and starter (after about 10 engine revolutions). The measurement shows the maximum compression pressure. The pointer does not automatically return. After taking the reading, release the adapter valve by pressing it and measure the other cylinders.
