The 'AF 85mm F1.4 FE II' is the lightest lens (509g) among all large-aperture 85mm focal length lenses compatible with the Sony FE mount, making it ideal even for compact Sony mirrorless cameras with stabilization. When shooting portraits, not only excellent sharpness is important but also weight. Especially when shooting handheld, the advantage of a light lens is significant, so innovative technology was needed to combine sharpness and weight. The AF 85mm F1.4 FE II is the only FE mount lens without a single aspherical glass element. If aspherical glass is used to improve optical characteristics, onion ring artifacts may appear in the bokeh effect, which is a negative factor when evaluating bokeh. Since the AF 85mm F1.4 FE II lens elements lack aspherical glass, its bokeh effect is clear and beautiful!

Samyang's linear stepping motor (STM) ensures high efficiency required for fast, precise, and quiet AF and tracking, fully utilizing the advantages of Sony E-mount cameras. Compared to the previous AF 85mm F1.4 FE, this new AF 85mm F1.4 FE II is optimized not only for photography but also for videography, reducing vibration and noise. It accurately and quickly tracks subjects, with AF also operating quietly and smoothly during filming.

Short minimum focusing distance of 0.85 m
The minimum focusing distance is only 85 cm, allowing you to capture impressive close-up shots even when very close to the subject, capturing fine details. Thanks to the short minimum focusing distance and the large aperture of the AF 85mm F1.4 FE II, you can achieve close-up shots, emphasizing the subject against a smoothly blurred background!
