Successor to the cult Baader Steeltrack eyepiece extractors -Baader Diamond Steltrack BDS. A thoroughly redesigned extractor from Baader Planetarium, in which the latest design details have been implemented with German precision. The new Diamond series extractors have an extremely robust construction, allowing accessories weighing up to 6 kg to be suspended. The wealth of Baader connectors and adapters allows for almost any application, from astrophotography to visual observations with any astronomical telescope.

Focusing mechanism

• drive gear in the focuser, which contains real diamond elements
• zero backlash, cogging and zero drive gear deflection
• 6 kg load capacity in the vertical axis without overloading the bearings, without mechanical modifications
• high-quality, precision machine bearings with high load capacity have been used
• microfocuser with stainless steel gear, mounting holes for SteelDrive (optional)
• removable knob unit, the microfocuser can be swapped from the right side to the left
• design optimized for overall length and lateral stiffness
• total focuser lock without introducing lateral displacement

Focuser tube

• individual adjustment of the position of each bearing separately
• special coatings on the steel raceway with the highest hardness and abrasion resistance
• oversized internal diameter of 55 mm and light baffles covered with matte paint

Locking mechanism

• built-in S58 thread in the focuser, accepting direct, threaded connection of accessories with T-2 / M48 / M68 threads and other accessories with S58 thread without the use of a 2" clamp mount.
