POWER IS NOT A PROBLEM FOR HIM: SIMPLE AND FUNCTIONAL "LANBERG POE+" SWITCH
A PoE+ switch is an essential active device in any network structure that uses power transmission over structured cabling. The RSFE-24P-2C-250 is designed for all installations: home, business, low-current, surveillance, IP, VoIP, and cable TV networks. It is particularly suitable for alarm, fire protection, and access control infrastructure.

In addition to the basic function of the switch – managing the flow of Ethernet frames between ports, it also supplies power to each device using PoE / PoE+ 802.3af and relevant standards. This allows it to supply devices with up to 250 W of power and transmit data to them at the same time.

This saves resources, space, and time that would otherwise be wasted installing separate electrical and network systems. This is especially important if the network is distributed and its end devices do not have access to a power source, especially when they are installed outdoors.

A COMPROMISE-FREE SOLUTION – TRUE POE BUDGET: 250 W
The switch has a total of 28 ports, including 24 PoE+ (Fast Ethernet) and 2 Uplink (Gigabit combo) ports. The carefully thought-out design and attention to component quality provide the user with up to 250 W of total power for end devices, which means you can connect simultaneously:

• 16 devices according to the IEEE 802.3af standard (max. 15 W per port) or
• 8 devices compliant with the IEEE 802.3at standard (max. 30 W per port).

The remaining two ports ("Uplink") are for exchanging data traffic between the 24 PoE+ ports and external devices. This is especially useful for surveillance/management systems, as it allows the user to download camera recordings to a video recorder and simultaneously share the stream further (via the second port), for example, on a local network or the internet.

SMART POE PORT REBOOT FUNCTION
It is not always clear how the switch will react when the available PoE budget is exceeded. There are several options: the port exceeding the budget will be disconnected, a random port, or the last connected port. In the latter case, what will be their connection order if the power supply is interrupted and restored, when all are connected to the switch simultaneously?

Lanberg has introduced an innovative solution in the RS series switches, which, due to its simple operating principle, eliminates any doubts about the port operation mechanics.

When the PoE budget is exceeded (e.g., due to a device connected to port 1), the switch starts disconnecting PoE ports, starting from the highest number, until the total load exceeds the available budget, maintaining the functionality of the remaining ports. Disconnected ports will remain disconnected until the PoE load decreases.

This function is primarily intended for demanding applications that prioritize safety and operational continuity, where some devices must operate continuously, regardless of the situation. In such cases, Lanberg switches allow users to protect important devices by connecting them to the lowest numbered ports.

EXTEND MODE UP TO 250 METERS WITH VLAN
Standard switches compliant with the standard allow devices to operate up to 100 meters away in a single cable segment. However, sometimes due to extensive backbone networks and complex environments, individual cable laying and network design require a solution that exceeds the standard. This is a common problem for surveillance solutions, often arising from excessive distances between the distribution device and the end device.

Lanberg switches have a function that allows data transmission (up to 10 Mb/s) and PoE+ power supply up to 250 m over a single cable segment, as well as a function for separating PoE ports from each other (VLAN). Simply switch the button to the "PoE+ Extender 250 m" position on the housing to ensure operation over a longer distance and separation of ports 1-24.

The solution was introduced with surveillance and IP systems, as well as access control in mind, especially if the end devices are outdoors, without the possibility of installing additional network distribution points.

4 kV surge protection
The switch itself and the devices connected to it are constantly exposed to various threats, including current surges, which can flow through both power and network cables.

With the safety of devices and their users in mind, Lanberg has equipped the switch with an integrated surge protection system, which guarantees 4 kV protection on all ports, effectively reducing their damage due to sudden voltage increases.

Under normal conditions, network operation will continue without interruption, the switch will continue to operate without any interference, and the user will gain safety for both the device and the infrastructure.

The RS series switches are characterized not only by their manufacturing quality, ease of use, and device functionality but also by their installation add-ons and, where possible, supplied accessories.

Lanberg has introduced a complete set of accessories for universal switch installation. The RSFE-24P-2C-250 includes mounting ears for 19-inch cabinets and a set of mounting screws (excluding M6). This allows for a wider range of applications and greater flexibility in installing RS series switches.
