OS2 LC–LC single-mode simplex fiber optic patch cable facilitates communication in 40G/100G networks. It supports coarse wavelength division multiplexing (CWDM) in the extended 1260–1625 nm wavelength range, improving channel isolation and ensuring optimal signal strength over long distances. It can be connected to single-mode fiber optic network devices, including simplex patch panels, SFP transceivers and fiber optic network cards. This 9/125 μm OS2 simplex single-mode fiber optic patch cable is compatible with OS1 networks, ensuring reliable communication in older fiber optic environments. Precisely manufactured ceramic ferrules ensure precise fiber alignment so that insertion loss is less than 0.3 dB. Ultra physical contact (UPC) polished LC–LC fiber ends significantly improve return loss characteristics compared to older computer polishing methods. The bend-insensitive fiber core is surrounded by a layer of low refractive index material. This material reduces the amount of light that can escape from the fiber optic cable by reflecting light back into the fiber. The OS2 fiber optic patch cord is designed for low attenuation and performance exceeding ITU-T G652.D/G657.A1 and IEC60703-2-50 B1.3/B6.a1 type industry standards. Wrapped in a low smoke zero halogen (LSZH) flame-retardant round jacket, the OS2 fiber optic cable emits little smoke and toxic fumes when exposed to high heat or in the event of fire.
