Ethos 13 mm okulāri
Apraksts
The TeleVue Ethos eyepieces debuted on the market in 2007 and are the pinnacle of the achievements of the renowned American optics manufacturer. Compared to the already very good Naglers, the Ethos eyepieces are significantly better and prove that there is still a lot to be done in optics. The most impressive here is the huge 100-degree field of view, which allows you to cover large areas of the sky without necessarily using minimal magnification. Like previous TeleVue models, the Ethos works perfectly with short-focal-length reflecting telescopes; the correction of optical aberrations in the field of view is flawless. The correction of geometric distortions is definitely better than Naglers, there are no distortions or color shifts at the edges of the image, which will undoubtedly be a big plus when observing the lunar disk. The Ethos is an extraordinary eyepiece with a wide field of view that slightly changes our ideas and habits when choosing focal length and magnification.
On the one hand, it is worth mentioning that the 21 mm Ethos sees approximately the same area of the sky as a 33 mm SWAN eyepiece or a 40 mm Plossl eyepiece, but guarantees a much darker sky background and, due to the different magnification, greater image detail. On the other hand, an impressive example: we install an 8 mm Ethos eyepiece in a 12-inch Synta focuser. With a focal length of 1500 mm, we get a significant magnification of 187x. With a 100-degree eyepiece field, we get a true field of view of 0.53 degrees – with this almost planetary magnification, you can fit the entire lunar disk into the field of view!
The Ethos eyepieces are supplied with focal lengths of 3.7 mm, 4.7 mm, 6 mm, 8 mm, 13 mm, 17 mm, and 21 mm. All of them are manufactured using multi-layer anti-reflective coatings, and special diaphragms are also used in the optical system to block stray light reflections. Due to the appropriate exit pupil distance, observations can be made comfortably regardless of the eyepiece focal length.
