Moonrakers is a game about building spaceships, temporary alliances and clever negotiations, set in the future of space travel. Players form a loose crew of mercenaries, but although formally united by a common name, the real alliances are fragile – everyone competes for the chance to become the new leader of the Moonrakers.Moonrakers is a deck-building game in which players choose Contracts and try to complete them alone or together with Allies, thereby earning Prestige and Credits. After agreeing on terms with Allies, players use Action cards to employ Engines, Shields, Weapons, Reactors and Crew and fulfill the requirements of each Contract. Each type of Action card also has additional effects, such as granting extra actions, allowing you to draw more cards, or protecting against Hazards encountered while completing Contracts.Build powerful decks and gain special abilities by upgrading your ship and hiring Crew members. This will allow you to independently complete more difficult and profitable Contracts, keeping more Prestige and Credits for yourself.Allies negotiate who will receive the Prestige and Credits and who will take on the Hazard risk posed by the Contract. But if your offers are not tempting enough, other players may be tempted to betray you! The first player to collect 10 Prestige wins, but beware – Hazards suffered while completing Contracts reduce your Prestige.The Platinum Edition consists of the base game, metal coins and a special plastic insert designed for sleeved cards.
