The RMS Olympic sets sail on seas and oceans

The RMS Olympic was a British ocean liner, sister ship to the Titanic, built at the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast. Its keel was laid in 1908, it was launched in October 1910, and entered service in 1911. The giant, 269 meters long and 28.3 meters wide, could reach a speed of up to 24 knots. It was considered the largest ship in the world. It lost the title of the Titanic for a few days.

Olympic served passengers for over 20 years, also serving as a military transport during World War I, and in 1918 it sank the German submarine U-103.

After the war, it carried passengers again, remaining a symbol of reliability and luxury until 1935.
